This is my favorite time of year! Summer winding down but there is still plenty of sunshine, days are warm but nights are cool, and there is the palatable excitement about the changes to come.

This is also a great time of year to re-assess and re-establish daily routines. The Fall season is all about changes and transformation. Many people set New Years resolutions, but I like to do a resolution-of-sorts just after Labor Day. You can feel the changes in the air, the stir of excitement and butterflies in the stomach. I wish I could harness this transformational energy and make it last all year!
These are the projects I have been working on the past 2 weeks:
1. Cleaning and donating. I love a good purge of things that no longer serve me…whether it be clothes, paper clutter, or furniture. Simplify, simplify, simplify!
2. Re-establish daily routines. Morning routines or dinacharya are very important and set the stage for the day. With lazy summer weather, I have let mine slip. Back to nasya oil, dry brushing, abhyanga massage, and meditation daily.
3. Home and office makeover. Cleaning out of things I don’t need also means rearranging my current living and work space to maximize efficiency. This makes the space feel new and fresh without spending any money.
Summer is almost over, school starts, work changes, and this is a great time to reimagine day-to-day patterns.
Blessings,
~J
